Mama Wear has two Returns Policies: one for ONLINE and one for IN-STORE purchases

 

Please be aware that the seller (Mama Wear) and the purchaser (you the customer) BOTH have Rights & Responsibilities when entering into a Contract of Sale

 

ONLINE SHOP RETURNS POLICY

Your responsibility as a consumer is to read and understand the following Mama Wear Returns Policy. Information on how to return an item, including details on postage and refunds, is provided below.

• Returning an Item

All ongoing, non-seasonal basics and items for which you have paid full price are returnable, exchangeable or refundable. By purchasing from our website, you agree to pay the postage cost of returning any items to us. We agree to pay the postage for the first exchange item/s we send back to you, but not subsequent exchanges.

 

All Discounted, Bargain Bin and Clearance items are returnable and exchangable, but not refundable (you will instead be asked if you would like to choose a substitute item, or be issued a Store Credit Coupon for use on your next purchase).

 

Please try the items on as soon as you receive them so that you may return them if they are not suitable.

 

When you return an item to us, you must leave any tags or labels attached so that it is in ‘as new’ or saleable condition upon return.

We do not accept returns on an item that has been worn, washed, or altered. If it has been removed from its original packaging, or if any labels or tags have been removed, please tell us of its condition before you return it. The only exception to this is if there is a manufacturing defect that only became obvious after you wore, washed or altered the item (read on for notes about Defective Items).

 

• Unavailable Items

If we cannot supply an item on your order becuase it has sold out before being updated online, you will be refunded for that item. This applies to full priced and discounted items.


• Time Limit for Returns

We ask that you return items within 21 days of original purchase date on your invoice.

 

• Defective Products

Defective products are those that are faulty when you receive them due to some circumstance out of your control. Normal ‘wear and tear’ (such as pilling, rubbing or stretching) that occurs while the item is your possession does not mean that a product is defective. If you believe the goods are defective, we may need to send the goods back to the manufacturer to determine whether you are eligible for a refund, exchange or repair.

 

We do not offer anything for sale through our website that we know or believe to be faulty.

 

• Non-Returnable Items

We do not accept returns or exchanges on hosiery or underwear for hygiene reasons, except if you believe they are significantly different from their description or sample image, or they are found to be defective.

 

• Discounted Items

Note that any items offered with a marked Discount applied, or from Clearance or Bargain Bin categories are not refundable unless they are found to be defective or are significantly different from their online description or depiction. All such items are returnable, but not refundable (you will instead be issued a Store Credit Coupon for use on your next purchase).

 

This is because they are substantially discounted to clear stocks, and are often priced below cost. They will be marked ‘NoRefund’ next to their SKU product code, which will appear before you 'Confirm Order' in the shopping cart. If you do not to agree to this Condition of Sale, you should not buy the item. You should delete the item/s from your shopping cart before confirming your order.

 

• Promotional Items and One-Off Sales

From time to time we offer special discounts, e.g. '20% Off Everything Sale', 'Members Only Discount' coupons. These discount sales come with specific Terms and Conditions, which you must read and agree to before entering the discount code in the shopping cart. These Terms and Conditions may be more limited than our normal Returns Policy depending on the type of sale and the products on sale. For instance, you may be issued with a Store Credit Coupon rather than a refund if you return a discounted item.

To avoid disappointment, call or email us if you intend to return a garment. We can hold an exchange garment of your choice for up to a week until your returned item arrives. Note that we will not necessarily have all products listed on our website in stock. Our suppliers occasionally run out of very popular or seasonal styles, and sometimes we have to wait for another ‘cut’ to be completed.

 

If you wish to return an item, please download, complete and send us the 'My Returns' form and include it with your returned item. Let us know what was not suitable or satisfactory about the returned item. We use this information to process your return and to provide you with a better service. Remember to write your ORDER NUMBER next to your name on the printed 'My Returns' form.

 

You must return the item within 21 days of the purchase date on your invoice in original, unworn, and saleable condition with the swing tags still attached.

 

If the garment product code (on your invoice) says ‘NoRefund’, you will be issued with a credit coupon for the price you paid for the garment, not a refund for the garment.

Unless by prior written agreement, Mama Wear will not accept COD parcels from Australia Post or any freight or shipping company. They will be returned to the sender and the sender will be liable for any postage costs incurred.

 

• Exchanges

If you would like to exchange an item, we can suggest alternative styles that you may find more suitable, as well as other products that are similar to the one you wish to exchange. We are happy to offer advice and support about the range of maternity products we carry.

 

As stated previously, you pay the cost of any exchange parcels you send to us. We pay the cost of the first exchange parcel we send back to you. We will ask for your written permission (by email) to charge any additional postage fees before we send subsequent exchanged products to you.

 

• Refunds

If you require and are eligible for a refund we will reimburse the cost of the returned garment by the same payment method by which the original purchase was made. Unfortunately, postal charges are not refundable.

 

• Step-by-Step: How to Return an Item

1. Download the pdf 'My Returns', print the pdf and complete all relevant sections

2. Place the completed 'My Returns' form and the item/s to be returned in a box or a reinforced postbag (or re-use the toughbag liner in which the item was sent to you)

3. Seal and secure the package well to prevent damage to the article.

4. Write our address on the package:

5. Take the package to a post office for processing. Make sure that you pay the correct postage for the item. Placing the reinforced bag/box into a pre-paid satchel (Regular or Express Post) is an ideal way to return the item/s.

 

• Whoops! What if...

...you return an item that does not comply with our returns policy? We will notify you by phone or email. You will then have a choice of whether you wish to have the garment returned to you at your cost. We will donate the garment to charity after 28 days from the date we notify you if you decide against having the garment returned, or if we do not hear from you.

 

IN-STORE RETURNS POLICY

Our In-Store Returns Policy differs from our Online Returns Policy, because in-store customers have the opportunity to assess and try on a number of items before deciding which items they will purchase. In-store customers can compare and assess the colours, size, fit and feel of the items they try on. They may choose to purchase Non Returnable discounted items that are marked as faulty on the tags after they assess the faults (or in some cases, shop soiling that can be removed when the item is washed or drycleaned). Online customers do not have this opportunity. Our In-Store Returns Policy follows the ACCC Guidelines for Warranties & Refunds. Here is a PDF version of those guidelines.
